Ride Schedule

Feb 20 – Brownlow Trail – Pioneer Park – Bobbie Reno Trail leader.  Rated a 2 for 3 hours.  Meet at 10:00AM to ride at 10:30AM at Pioneer Park, Bobbie will give you directions when you call.

Feb 23 – Peavine Trail – Prescott City Council Workshop on road crossing of the Peavine Trail.  1:00PM in Council Chambers at City Hall, Prescott.

Feb 27 – Arizona Foxtrotter National Trail Ride – If interested contact Clare Ross at 928-925-0663 or Kelly or Renee at Bumblebee Ranch.

Mar 6 - Bloody Basin Ride – Deb Stephens Trail leader.  Rated a 3 ½ for 4 hours including lunch.  We will meet at 9:30AM to ride at 10:00AM on the East side of I-17 at Exit 256, Badger Springs Rd (Second exit south of Prescott turnoff Hwy 69).  Horses must be shod or wear boots.  Call Deb at 636-0957.

Mar 10 – 11 Prescott Natl Forest Plan Revision Meeting:

Noon – 2:30PM – Prescott Valley Library in the Crystal Room

6:00 – 8:30PM –Activity Center in the Community Center Park, 1527 N. Rd 1 E. Chino Valley

Mar 11 – Noon – 2:30PM – Yavapai Community College Library meeting Room, Prescott

Mar 13 - Contreras Rd to Granite Basin Lake – Billie Wederski Trail Leader.  Rated a 4 for 4 hours.  Meet under the power lines on Contreras Rd. at 10:00AM to ride at 10:30AM.  Contact Billie at 778-5067.

Mar 20 & 27 – Caballos del Sol Ride – If you want to ride please contact Deb Stephens at 636-0957.

Apr 3 – Sand Canyon Ride - Susie Corrales Trail leader.  Rated a 3 for 4 hours including lunch.  Since we could not go into the canyon we will try this one again!!  Meet at Susie’s home on Frontier Rd. north of Chino Valley at 10:00AM to ride at 10:30AM.  Call Susie at 636-7180.

Apr 7 – Board Meeting – Marcia Sansoucy’s home at 6;30pm.  All members are welcome.  Contact Marcia at 541-9320.

Apr 10 – Black Mesa Ride – John Crisfield Trail leader.  Rated a 2 ½ for 4 hours including lunch. We will meet at 9:30AM to ride at 10:00AM.  Where we will park off of Hwy 89 North of Paulden will depend on how many people we have on the ride.  Please call as soon as you know you wish to ride so we can make arrangements.  Call John at 583-0915.

Apr 17 – Annual Groom Creek Horse Camp Clean-Up - Meet at the Group area in Loop C at 9:00AM.  Please bring rakes, loppers, handsaws and gloves.  We will work until Noon.

Apr 24 – Thumb Butte – Denise Stephens Trail leader.  Rated a 3 for 3 hours.  Meet at 9:30 to ride at 10:00.  There is limited parking so please double up if possible.  We will lunch at Casa Sanchez afterwards.  Park on West Gurley approximately 1 mile past the hikers parking lot.  Call Denise at 445-2911.

September 24 to 26 – Mormon Lake Ride and Campout

 Guests - If you would like to join us as a guest on a ride, please contact the trail leader. All guests must sign a release of liability waiver and there is a $2.00 fee.

Trail Rating Guide
Call trail leader for more information and to make your reservation.

Level 1: An easy, shorter ride, with mostly level terrain, few grades, and good footing. Trail mostly follows roads or wide, well defined trails.
Level 2: Some grades but not steep or hard. Can go across country on mostly level ground.
Level 3: Footing may be rocky and difficult in places. May have steep grades and be narrow. Could be long in length.
Level 4: Steep grades and rocky. There may be some steps, negotiating ledges, and large boulders. Could be long in length.

Always call the ride leader 2 days in advance of the ride.

Unless otherwise noted, please bring your own lunch/refreshments.

If you have a horse that continues to be unruly or not good in a group you will be asked to bring a different horse.
